• MBBS or equivalent essential
• Fellowship with the CICM

Reporting to the Manager, specialist and therapeutic programs, the successful applicant will play an important role in providing support for people at the point of hospital discharge from Emergency Departments (ED) who are identified as at-risk of suicide or those who express suicidal ideation and/or repeated intentional self-harm. 

The successful applicants will be required to:

• Undertake a range of psycho social interventions and therapies that address drivers of suicidality for a period of 3 months using focused psychological strategies. This may also include psycho-education, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Skills training, Interpersonal therapeutic strategies or narrative therapy and Optimal Health Program. 
• Engage high risk groups such as people who are indigenous, men, women, youth older persons, LGBTIQ+, CALD and those affected by natural disasters and COVID19.
• Provide intake and access functions that prioritise and respond to referrals within 24 business hours.
• Develop client engagement through a combination of face to face, email, telephone, videoconferencing or Skype contact.
• Provide comprehensive suicide and self-harm assessment for all clients on referral from  ED, general hospital wards or community teams
• Complete risk formulations that identify risks and develop suicide safety plans that focus on the drivers of suicidality and lethal means interventions.
• Provide coordination and referral of persons for psychosocial and peer support, or partnering organisations including the Way Back Support Service

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

• Relevant clinical experience in mental health service with well-developed organisational skills
• Expertise in assessing and formulating suicide and self-risk and then developing safety plans that address suicide drivers and lethal means interventions
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to collaboratively consult and liaise with other consumers, carers, staff members and other relevant agencies
• A strong commitment to providing consumer and family focused mental health care
• Ability to provide leadership, advocate and think creatively to develop innovative ways of providing mental health care to meet consumer and carer needs

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Community Recovery Clinician to join the Wonthaggi Community Mental Health Team, located in Wonthaggi which is part of Latrobe Regional Hospital on a Full Time for 80 hours per fortnight.

Reporting to the Team Manager the successful applicant will play an important role:-

To undertake a full range of clinical assessment, care planning and treatment including the provision of a comprehensive assessment of needs for referred clients, their family, and carers, and to develop and deliver therapeutic interventions, and coordinate care.

The successful applicant will be required to: Deliver timely, high quality, accessible, integrated and responsive services to the Gippsland community.

 To be successful in this position you will need to have:

• Registered Nurse Division 1* or 3. OR

• Degree or Diploma of a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or to be eligible to be a member of the Victorian Association of Occupational Therapists. OR

• Full General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (this does not include "provisional" registration) OR

• Degree or Diploma in Social Work eligibility or other qualification acceptable for membership to AASW.

Reporting to the PECT Manager, the successful applicant will play an important role in provision of high quality specialist mental health services across acute and urgent inpatient referral and assessment services as well as Mental Health and Police Response. The Senior Clinician provides direction and support for the daily operational activities of the team and assists with workforce development and workload management. The position undertakes a comprehensive assessment, care coordination, evidence based treatment, psycho-education and consumer and family collaboration. The Senior Clinician coordinates and prioritizes the team workload including acute assessments, response to Emergency Department, GPs and the broader community. The Senior Clincian is responsible for assisting with clinical governance, education, team projects and mentoring.
