Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse
Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Mental health clinician to join the Psychiatric Emergency Care Team (PECT) on on part-time basis working Monday and Friday's. The Consultation Liaison Nursing role provides expert psychiatric nursing consultation to general hospital staff in the Emergency Department and to the acute and general units of Latrobe Regional Hospital in order to achieve integrated and patient centred care to mental health consumers.
The successful application will:
- Provide early intervention in the mental health episode of care
- Medication management
- Physical health and organic screening and referral of care
- Family and patient liaison
- Discharge planning including service referral and linkage for support in the community
- Referral to inpatient units for admission
- Capacity building general ward staff to improve the understanding of mental health conditions
The CLP Mental Health Nurse provides professional leadership for all staff of LRHMHS and contributes to education, training and professional development across the service.
