Position Summary

The Latrobe Valley has been designated as a Health Zone, the first of its kind in Australia. The State Government has committed to a $27.3 million investment over five years in health and wellbeing for the Latrobe Valley through the Latrobe Health Innovation Zone.

The Latrobe Health Assembly is a key component in the Latrobe Health Innovation Zone. The Zone also includes the Latrobe Health Advocate who will strengthen the Latrobe Valley community’s voice on health and wellbeing.

The Assembly is a community-centred model to harness the strength, wisdom and collective talents of our community, putting Assembly members front and centre in identifying health and wellbeing priorities and innovating health services.

The Latrobe Health Assembly are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team on a fixed term full time basis until 30 June 2021.

As the Latrobe Health Assembly Project Coordinator you will:

  • Understand the local context for program implementation, contribute to the full life cycle of projects, including complex projects, to meet Latrobe Health Assembly objectives including:

                (a) Undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs;

                (b) In conjunction with delivery organisations, support management of projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget   

                 parameters; and

               (c) Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure Latrobe Health Assembly objectives are met.

  • Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, briefings, and other documents as required on projects or complex matters;
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the Assembly members and other key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach. Manage stakeholders through effective negotiation and influence;
  • Where responsible for overseeing or monitoring projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant guidelines;
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities;
  • Provide support to the Executive Officer of the Latrobe Health Assembly;
  • Possess a strong and practical understanding of corporate governance, risk and compliance within the context of government, local government and the community sector;
  • Collect, collate and compile data to support the Executive Officer in meeting any reporting requirements;
  • Possess strong financial acumen.  Be able to prepare budgets, undertake forecasting, complete reconciliation activities and compile regular financial reports for the Assembly; and
  • Possess superior skills in the development of service contracts and agreements as well as the monitoring and management of such agreements including capacity to ensure the delivery of agreed milestones and project deliverables.
