An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Senior Clinician to join the Psychiatric Emergency Care Team (PECT) at Latrobe Regional Hospital on a Full Time/Part Time permanent basis.
Reporting to the PECT Manager, the successful applicant will play an important role in provision of high quality specialist mental health services across acute and urgent inpatient referral and assessment services as well as Mental Health and Police Response. The Senior Clinician provides direction and support for the daily operational activities of the team and assists with workforce development and workload management. The position undertakes a comprehensive assessment, care coordination, evidence based treatment, psycho-education and consumer and family collaboration. The Senior Clinician coordinates and prioritizes the team workload including acute assessments, response to Emergency Department, GPs and the broader community. The Senior Clincian is responsible for assisting with clinical governance, education, team projects and mentoring.
The successful applicant will be required to:
Comply with legislative requirements
To complete mandatory training annually
To participate in annual performance appraisal
Support the delivery of high quality and safe patient care
Awareness and engagement in continuous improvement initiatives
Support cultural awareness, diversity and inclusiveness
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
Well-developed organisational skills
Ability to provide leadership and direction to others
Knowledge and experience with a recovery based model of care
Ability to provide leadership and direction to others
Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
Relevant clinical experience in mental health services
Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to mental health consumers
Ability to effectively lead a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external services
Working knowledge of National Mental Health Standards for Mental Health services
Ability to work independently
